CONSENSUS: “It can be pretty funny at times, especially as you learn about the whacked-out version of America that it is set, but Visioneers is way too drab and way too boring as a story. It is all concept and not enough plot.”

“I enjoy the completely crazed world of Visioneers. This is a very different type of dystopian future. You don’t have the sinister oppression of 1984 or the roving gang of mad max. Instead, you have the suppression of dreams and aspirations and advancement that cause people to blow up real good! While not often laugh out loud funny, ZGal brings the funny.”

“Zach Galifianakis has his moments, but this is an otherwise completely drab and depressing film. His brother is probably supposed to be a Christ figure, and his preachings are probably loaded with symbolism, but the message is muddled. The rest of the characters are a bunch of sad sacks, who inexplicably refuse to take control of their own destinies. It was an ambitious attempt but I think it misfires more often than not.

“Getting dropped into this amazing dystopian version of America is pretty awesome, hilarious and fun. Unfortunately, that is about all there is in Visioneers to get excited about.
